Question
ever since last year when I was doing yoga at home, I went to do a stretch with my hands down on the floor andmy legs straight and up on my toes, I strained my right foot. Since then the ball of my right foot aches. Cushions in my shoes do not help!

Answer
Hi Tina,

You need to see a Podiatrist and have an x-ray and possibly an MRI.  You may have overstretched a tendon, joint or nerve in the ball of the foot and it hasn't had the chance to recover.

You may require a custom arch support and possibly an anti-inflammatory and physical therapy.

In some cases over stretch of the nerve may lead to a condition known as Morton's neuroma.  Here is info on that condition:

So I would have a professional look at it.  Don't wait too long or this may worsen.

Good Luck.
