Question
Hello,i broke my ankle nearly 6 months ago playing soccer. It was a brake of the tib and a dislocation,i am very keen to get back playing soon.Im recieving physio but im having a promblem with my heel. It is  swollen and i cannot go fully up on my toes like u would do on a calf strech, also when i use the wobble board or run it is where i really feel it.Its like theres something stopping me from streching through it.The physio recommended getting an injection, cortizone i think he called it,to free up the area.Do you recommend this or have you any ideas as i am very keen to get back in action. Thanks for your time

Answer
Hi Seamus,

After such a severe ankle injury it could take a year to be better.  And in many cases there can be chronic pain and limited motion of the ankle.  I would continue therapy.  See a podiatrist form orthotic arch supports and evealuation for an injection.  This could help with scar tissue and tightness.  You may want to seek another opinion to make sure all is healing well.

Good Luck.
