Question
Hi, Im 16 years old and have had off and on pain on the side and back of my big toe on my left foot for about 2 years.  It was at its peak about 10 months ago when I tore my ACL on my right knee, and continued for about 6 months. About 2 weeks ago I tore the ACL on my left knee and the pain in my toe on the left side is very bad again.  Do you have any ideas of what it may be?

Answer
Hello Brittany

When pain does not go away, it is definitely time to see a doctor. They can determine better what is wrong. For me, it was pain in the bottom of my left foot. I THOUGHT time would make it "go away." Wrong! After 5 weeks, the pain stayed exactly the same. A podiatrist gave me some cortozone shots and a year later, no more pain.

No one should go thru life in pain. Go see a doctor and give yourself some relief. You deserve it.
