What are erosions in refferance to the joints of the big toe?

Hi Ralph,

Erosions of the big toe joint will usually indicate some type of arthritis of the joint.  The cartilage may have areas that wear away and you also have portions of bone that become pitted along the edge of the joint.

Arthritis of the big toe joint is fairly common and can also result from injury.
