Question
I had Freiburgs disease when I was a teenager and spent a lot of time in a plaster cast. I am now 50 years old and the toe next to my original problem toe is causing me very similar pain and feels soft at the joint as was the case when I was a  teenager. Can it be Freiburgs again or might it be something else?

Answer
Hi Vee,

It is certainly possible that you have Freiberg's. I would see a podiatrist for an x-ray and exam to see what might be causing the problem.  There are other less complex problems that may also be the cause such as soft tissue inflammation.
