Question
Foot Skin Bump
Foot Skin Bump
Hey doc!
I'm 17 and have had this lump on my foot for almost two years. Is this something I can treat myself, or will it require surgery? It's not filled with anything. It is a hard red solid ball of skin. It will move around, but only with the skin as a whole. It isn't filled with anything, and I can peel scabs off every now and then, but there is no way to pick it off..it is part of the skin. Attached is an image of the bump, maybe you can help me. Thank you so much!!!

Answer
Hi Casey,

This does not look like something that you can treat.  It may be a cyst beneath the skin or scar tissue.  This could also be an infection that needs to be treated.  I would see a podiatrist for an exam.
