Question
My daughter has always had large feet for her age.  She is 11 years old now and wears a ladies size 10 shoe.  She is tall for her age, so I have not paid much attention to her feet.  Yesterday I noticed that her toes seem to look wierd!  Her big toe seems longer than it should be.  The gap between it and her second toe seems to go too far into her foot.  Also her second and third toes seem to almost be forked.  They seem short in comparison to her big toe, with the gap between them being very short.  She has not complained about any foot pain, but it is hard to find shoes that fit her well.  Nike's are always too narrow, Rebok's seem to fit her the best.  Her fourth and fifth toes seem normal.

Is this something I should be worrying about??  Should I take her to a Podiatrist?

Thanks,
Ray

Answer
Hi Ray,

I would have her see a podiatrist for an x-ray to evaluate the foot bones.  Check some New Balance shoes, they usually fit well with most foot types.  There is likely no major problem but I would have it checked.
