Do children have arches?
9/21 15:08:30

Question
My son is 30 months old.  I noticed this week that there seems to be no arch in his feet.  Is this normal or should I seek further medical attention?

Answer
Hi Bonnie,

Children usually start developing foot arches at about 2 1/2 years old.  So you are real close.  Prior to that, there is no arch due to the infant fat pad that is present on the bottom of the foot.
Are there any problems with walking?
Any severe intoeing?  This will look like a C shaped foot with the large toes facing each other.
Any tripping or suggestion pain?
Has your son had normal development over the past 30 months?

Sounds normal at this point.  Let me know some of these details and I can give you more help.
