Question
Dear Dr. Tabari,
About a month ago I developed a bump on the bottom of my foot. It is on my right heel very near the arch of my foot. It is the size of a dime and does not hurt but gets irritated when I wear flip flops. Do you have any idea what it might be?

Answer
Hi Beth
You have to see a podiatrist for evaluation.  This could be a cyst, a plantar fibroma, or a lipoma among other things.  You will probably need an MRI to see the nature and the accurate size of this mass and to also see if it is invading the surrounding tissue.
