nerve pain

Question
I read a response you gave to someone post bunion surgery.  You told him, "In some cases, the nerve can be damaged or surrounded by scar tissue and this can cause burning and pain unless it is treated. "  How can this nerve be treated?  I had bunion surgery 1 year ago and still have terrible nerve burning.  My surgical dr gave up and so did my 2nd opinion.  The man that gave me a second opinion gave me a shot of cortisone that took care of the joint pain, but he says it could take a long time for the nerve to settle down.  He did not offer any options.
Do you know of a way this nerve can be treated?

Answer
Hi Staci,

I treat pain after a bunion with cryosurgery or neuroablation.  This is an excellent minimally invasive procedure that may help significantly.  I would avoid any open surgeries and there are limits on cortisone injections.  See my site for information.
