foot not healing

Question
About 4 weeks ago a girl was shoved into me and her heel slid down the top of my foot.  It looked like a HUGE fluid filled sack was sitting on the top of my foot immediately after it happened.  The skin was broken as well.  The next morning the entire top of my foot was green and very hard to walk on.  I went to an urgent care and they did an X-ray and said no fractures.  Since then the bruise slowly dissipated and turned black and moved into my toes.  After about 2 weeks the bruise was gone.  Now it still hurts to raise or lower my toes and i can't wear sandals at all.  Is it just taking a long time to heal or should I consult a podiatrist?

Answer
HI Amy,

I would see a Podiatrist and get an MRI to see if there was significant soft tissue damage to the tendons of the foot.  These injuries can take a while to heal.  You may likely need physical therapy for more rapid healing and to improve the strength and function of your foot.
