lump on the side of the foot

Question
my 9 yr. old daughter is complaining with a lump on the side of the middle of her right foot.  It hurts her all the time to the point she doesn't like to walk on it.  It's the size of a gumball and protrudes mostly to the side but some on the bottom of her foot.  It's 1/2 way between her pinky toe and ankle.  I first thought it could be a bunion, but it feels somewhat soft around it and bunions usually hurt only when you've worn a shoe that rubs it.  She complains with this from the time she gets up in the morning to bedtime. Please help

Answer
This Chicago & Elmhurst Podiatrist says.......

Dear Martha,

Go see a Board Certified Podiatrist for a correct diagnosis and treatment right away please.
Ask if they take care of kids. Or go to a Children's specialty hospital
The symptoms are vague and hard for me to give you any ideas.
Any painful growth should always be examined sooner rather than later!

Hope this helps!
Good Luck !
