Question
Hello, I'm 23 years old, 6'4" 195 lbs. I have uneven wear (inside heel) of my shoes.  Most everyone I know has wear to the outside of the heel.  What should I consider doing?  I do have bad ankles, and I have rolled both of them severly in the past.  Thanks in advance.

Austin

Answer
Hi Austin,

It sounds like your foot, ankle and arch may be unstable causing excessive pressure on the inside of the heel.  This is known as pronation.

I would recommend that you see a Podiatrist for an exam and you will likely need custom orthotic devices/arch supports that can go in your shoes.

You may require some x-rays to evaluate the bones and joints of your feet.  The Dr. will also look at the way you walk and stand.

Good Luck.
