Question
Hi,
Last year I bumped my big toe and it bruised, then healed. Since then I have had trouble with the skin in the tip of my toe. The toe now looks almost purple, the skin on the end is constantly flaking and peeling. It isn't particularly sore, just very unsightly.
It seems too trivial to go to my GP with... any suggestions?
thanks.

Answer
Hi Cat,

I would consider a possible fungal infection or eczema of the toe.  You could get an over-the-counter antifungal cream and try that twice daily for a month and see if that works.
