Long - term top of foot pain

Question
Hia

Ive had an ongoing problem with pain in the top of my left foot for about eight months now. The pain is situated all over the top of the foot, but seems to be concentrated most slightly to the left of the top of the foot, underneath the three smallest toes. I do not have pain actually in my toes, or in the heal or bottom of the foot. Pain is always there but worse when weight is applied to the foot. I was diagnosed with tendonitis by a hospital doctor, and advised to take Ibuprofine tablets. I did this but as soon as I stopped taking them the pain came back. This was about six months ago and I surely cant be expected to take them indefinately? I have also used arnica gell, with limited success. Could the diagnosis be wrong? Even if it right, is there any other treatment? What should I do next?

Thanks for your time,

Sam

Answer
Sam,

I would see a Podiatrist.  I would get x-rays to make sure all is well.  Orthotic devices/arch supports may be appropriate.  You may also a have an enlarged nerve or tendonitis may be correct.  See a Foot Dr. and they can better diagnose and treat your problem.

Good Luck
