Question
I am having surgery to remove approx. 30-35warts on the bottom of my foot. I have a boot thing I have to wear but I was never told how long. I am also wondering if my doctor may give me a handicapped sticker, because I am starting college and that will require a lot of long distance walking. I would also love an overview of what to expect before and after surgery
Thanks, Kati

Answer
Hi Kati,

It will take at least several weeks to feel more comfortable after surgery.  You may be able to get a temorary permit for parking.  Laws vary from state to state.  After surgery I would expect to have some significant soreness and pain.  This really varies with each patient.  It also depends on the method of surgery and the locaton of the warts.  Some people require pain medication and some need time off from activities.

I would be somewhat concerned that your Dr did not provide you with these details.  These are answers that should have been addressed by your Dr. prior to surgery.

Hope all goes well.

Sincerely,
