Question
My mother is in excruciating pain and has 2 neuromas in one foot. Can you recommend anyone to do this procedure in the Jacksonville, Fl area? I think she found someone in yellow pages who did procedure but the ball of her foot is now swollen and she cant walk on it at all. the doctor had no way of reaching him after hours. She had procedure done 5 days ago and he did see her today and wrapped it telling her to alternate between ice and warm compresses. I am not sure of his expertise in this area and was hoping you could recommend someone in this area in case she needs second opinion or procedure. Not comfortable with the information she is getting with this one.

Answer
Hi Kathy,

Sorry, I don't know anyone in the area.  In some cases after cryosurgery there can be swelling that will be relieved with time. Ice works well.  I recommend decreased activity.  If there is redness, there could be an infection.  It is too soon to repeat the procedure.

Sincerely,
