Question
Hi: I have had a burning sensation in my foot for several months that seems internal not external. Foot gels only seem to irritate my feet and cause secondary problems. I also have some noticeable discomfort when I walk down stairs and the mid section of my foot flexes on the staircase. Is it possible that there is some circulatory or other (non-spinal) related problem with the foot? Who would be best to consult. I previously saw a podiatrist who said he found nothing wrong. Thank you.

Answer
Go to a smarter podiatrist.
Make sure he/she is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics--or at least 5 years in practice.
Even when I could not pinpoint a diagnosis I always had a clue and always tried to get to the source of the problem.
Doesn't sound like circulatory.May be spinal-but as simple as mild arthritis of the spine
Sounds like metatarsalgia-inflammation of the joints of the ball of the foot.Gel pads don't work because they push back instead of actually trying to pocket the inflamed area.
There are dozens of reasons for metatarsalgia-too man to list
