Question
Hi,
I have few qeustions about cortisone injection.
How long does it last in the body?
Does fat pad atrophy can occur after 6 months or year later?
Thank you.

Regard

Sung

Answer
Hi Sung,

Low levels of cortisone likely stay in the system for several weeks. The body naturally produces its own variety of cortisone that circulates within your body.

Fat pad atrophy can occur in less than 6 months if you get multiple injections, so avoid too many.  Alcohol can also cause fat pad atrophy.
