Question
I few weeks ago I seen on the heel part of my foot peeling skin, so me not really thinking peeled it off. Afterwards mounds of dicolored and dry hard skin surfaced and that started to peel but wheen I peeled that off some sort of moisture came from it that had sort of a fishy smell. Before that I would soak my feet hoping that this would come of and I walk around in socks so that it wont get worst. What is this and can I treat it at home with over the counter medication or do I have to see a foot doctor?

Answer
Ally,

Peeling of the foot, sounds like you may have a fungal infection and possibly a secondary bacterial foot infection.  Generally, you need to keep your feet dry, change socks often and you may try Lamisil cream which is over the counter.  Some people also get dermatitis of the foot.

However, if the condition is different that usual or is not improving you need to see a Podiatrist.

You can look up these conditions on my site:
