Foot pain with Small navicular

Question
I've had a recent visit with my foot doctor due to a large mass forming on the top of my left foot. After Taking x-ray's he noticed My navicular bone is smaller than average and seems to have conjoined with the bone next to it which i believe is called a cuboid. He said that is causing my other bones to push upward and hence the mass. He did not really offer any type of "fix" for my issue and even said he had never seen this before. He also said I have arthritis which is uncommon because i'm a healthy 22 year old woman. I am wondering if there is something I can do to fix this problem, It causes pain and my foot swells after a long night at work. Also the mass makes wearing shoes and simple things such as sitting on my feet uncomfortable. I would greatly appreciate some feedback - thanks

These Chicago Podiatrists, Elmhurst Podiatrists & South Loop Orthopedic Podiatrists say.......
Dear  Chanel,
For your foot pain---
Sounds like what is known as a synostosis. Bones connected at an area where they are not normally connected. This lack of movement may produce arthritis in other nearby joints.
Make sure you are not overweight, perhaps some orthotics and if all else fails-there may be the option of surgical correction.
You need to see a Podiatrist who is Board Certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery for the best opinion.
We are located less than 45 minutes from both Chicago airports.

Good Luck!
Hope This Helps!
