Question
In 2009 I received a diagnosis of bilateral foot degenerative arthritis with pes planus and now I am diagnosed with bilateral ankle arthritis (traumatic) and in 2013 right knee arthritis with locking episodes. Is there a possibility that the bilateral foot triggered the ankle and
knee condition?

Answer
Dear Antoinne,
This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661, Roscoe Village 60618, Ukrainian Village 60622, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says,
For your pes planus & bilateral ankle arthritis.....
These conditions are known to cause problems with the knees, hips & lower back.
It's part of the kinetic chain---you know the song--the foot bone's connected to the leg bone, the leg bone's connected to the knee bone.
Being the right weight, wearing good foot gear & possible orthoticsmay help with some of your issues.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
