Question
Hi,
I am one year post-op from a bunionectomy.  Today i suddenly noticed that what feels like me tendon is popping when I walk it radiates over the top of my foot and the top of my big toe is numb and tingling.
Should I be immediately concerened?  It feels very weird and even looks a little weird.
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Julie,

Sorry for the delay.

I would not panic, however, I would have this checked by your surgeon. You may have some excessive movement of the tendon to the large toe.  This may cause pop sensation.

Another possibility is that if there was a screw put into the foot, it could have moved and is now pressing against a nerve and causing radiation and numbness of the toe.

So have it checked.

Good Luck.

Sincerely,
