Question
een having dull dispersed muscle pain in my back. It spread from my neck and shoulder down to my hip and buttocks. It also makes my arm and leg feel very uncomfortable.

The pain is mainly on the left side of the body but i do get it also on the right side

following is a list of test I've run:

MRI of brain, neck, spine, and lower back and they all came back fine.

Blood tests including thyroid hormones and that came back fine also.

Other symptoms include:
-hand tremor
- muscle weakness
-anxiety
-minor headache with dull pain behind the eye on the same side of the pain
-shallow sleep.

Doctors seem to think that the pain is psychosomatic, Here are some of the medications i tried

painkillers: advil
deanxit (anti stress drug)
muscle relaxants ( norgesic, norflex, and legaflex)
antiinflamatory (xefo)
xanax (0.25 mg 3 times a day)
SSRI ( cymbalta)

cymbalta got my spirit up but i didn't find pain relief yet! any help or feedback is appreciated

Answer
Omar,
I LOVE doctors and their psychosomatic pain! A lot of doctors develop egotistical tunnel vision. If they don't know the answer then it doesn't exist. They think that just because it has 4 legs, hooves and mane like a horse it has to be a horse. If it turns out not to be a horse then it isn't real. They don't think that it might be a zebra instead.
There are a lot of things that don't show up on an MRI. I had an L4/L5 disk that was ruptured in 5 places but it was missed on an MRI for a long time.
A good starting point would be to see a neurologist. He/she will be able to do different tests for a lot of possible causes of your pain.
Ask a lot of questions if the tests don't reveal the cause of your pain. See if the neurologist has any ideas of who you can see that might be able to help you. There are some ' Rehab' clinics that have several different types of doctors that work together to solve patient problems.
I wish you the very best
Tracy
