Question
Hi Lawrence,

I am a history of using eplileptic medicines. I have using such medicines like carbmazepine for eplileptic fits since 4 years and continuing.

The problem is that, the drug prevents healing process to the joints. Whatever joint injuries I sustained in the last 4 years have never healed.

Due to this problem, i am very scared to do any exercise and gaining weight. Is there a solution to my problem?

Regards,
Chandan

Answer
Chandan,

Try gentle exercises, such as somatic exercises.  To do these exercises relaxes muscles, which takes pressure off joints.

Some joint pain is simply the result of overcompression due to tight muscles; no "damage" is involved.  In other cases, to take excess pressure off joints is the best you can do.

To learn more about this type of exercise, visit somatics.com/page4b.htm.

Other than that, as long as you are on that type of medication, I don't know what to tell you.

with regard,
Lawrence Gold
