Stabbing paini in foot

Question
Its 2 am and I can't sleep because I am having a sharp stabbing pain in my heel.  It appears there is a small blister/wart on the heel.  Could this be causing the sharp pain?  If not, what  may be?  Thank You.

Answer
This Chicago & South Loop Podiatrist says....

It may be a foreign body in the area of the blister. A wart does not hurt when not walking on it or pressing it.
Heel pain from spurs and plantar fasciitis usually does not hurt at resting.
If it continues to hurt, please seek treatment. Go to a good local podiatrist.

PS.I'm not crazy about seeing the doctor either-but an unknown growth should always be looked at-even if it turns out to be nothing

Hope this helps!
