Numbness in outside of left toes

Question
I was wondering what would cause the sudden onset of numbness only in the three outside toes of my left foot. Any assistance is appreciated.

I am 46 and overweight by about 80 pounds.

Answer
This Chicago & Elmhurst Podiatrist says.......

Dear John,
Probably a compression of the nerve that goes to those toes.
The compression is probably in your lower back, due to your extra weight.
Sometimes physical therapy or anti-inflamatories may help--but don't wait to do something about your weight. Numb toes are better than a stroke or heart issues.
A great program for weight loss is Seattle Sutton. The food is reasonably priced and the plan does not harass you to participate.
Best advice I can give is please take the time to do something good for yourself!
Hope This Helps
Good Luck!
