Question
My 2nd toe has caused the toe nail on my big toe to turn partially black.  I don't have pain in my toe, but do have a lot in the foot and up the leg.  I am thinking that part of that has to do with not enough arch support since I have high arches, but I do wear SAS shoes and good tennis shoes most of the time.  I do not ever wear flip flops though I occassionally do wear crocs.  Please tell me if investing in the expensive inserts would be the best way to go, or if the podiatrist is my best option.
Thanks

Answer
Sounds like you may need a deeper toebox, to prevent pressure.  A podiatrist will be able to more properly assess you and recommend the proper treatment.  That's the avenue I'd pursue.

All the best,
