overpronation/flat feet and slippers

Question
My husband has bilateral overpronation with literally no arch.  As a result, his feet also seem "flattened out", like duck feet (but they actually are narrow!).  His shoes always fit very strangely as a result, and stretch out on the sides, requiring him to lace them very tightly because of the narrowness.  He has been searching for slippers to wear around the house, and the last pair we purchased were like a suede moccasin.  They were terrific for awhile, but then the sides stretched out and they started slipping off his feet.  I've searched all over and seen many orthopedic shoes, but very few slippers, and none that seem to have the support he needs.  Can a man like him simply not wear slippers?  I found "archy" slippers by Moszkito, but the description seemed like it was for people with high arches, as opposed to those with no arches.  We do know for his shoes that he needs to invest in orthotics, but he'd really love to be comfortable in a good pair of slippers that will support him, and not stretch out.  Please offer any advice regarding good footwear for him.  We don't mind spending a decent amount of money for a decent pair of slippers, but aren't sure what we should be looking for.  Thanks so much!

Dear Helen

This is probably not the answer you would like to hear-but continue to purchase the swede moccasin type and buy the least expensive as he wears them out. Try a shoe outlet like DSW.
The reason that I am saying this is short of orthotics/orthoses then you will be overpaying for an expensive slipper that will still wear out. Please don't overpay for the "archy slippers"-but if they are comfortable-you can give them a try. An arch may decrease the wear on the slippers.

Good Luck !
