Question
Do you have any recommendations for helping to heal and then prevent cracked heels?  I have had a fissure that has been hurting for months and I can't get it to go away completely.  Also, I have been using a "ped egg" to remove calluses but I think that it may be making the cracks worse.  Do you have other recommendations for callus removal?

This Chicago, South Loop & Elmhurst Podiatrist says.......

Dear A,
For your cracked (fissured) heels-Continue to use a ped egg or other pumice stone product. No blades. Try to remove the hard skin around the crack without disturbing the fissure. There are many pumice stones on the market & easy to find on the internet. See if you can find a cream that contains Urea and apply at bedtime. Check out our online store http://www.ourdoctorstore.com/tsatsos/store/search.asp for recommended products!
Good Luck
Hope This Helps
