Question
HI.. i am experiencing major pains in my feet...the pain never goes away unless i am sleeping...pain and tenderness in my toes soles of feet , heels, top of my feet , stopped to ankles. I was diagnosis with lupus with vasculitis 2 years ago. My doctor has me on nuerontin, which has not done anything for the pain...and I am scheduled for a cortosone shot for the first time soon. If that doesnt work...I'm not sure what else to try...Have you ever heard or experienced a condition like this..and what other alternatives can I try to at least take away some pain if not all.

Answer
This Chicago Podiatrist, Elmhurst Podiatrist & South Loop Podiatrist says.......

Dear Keith,

I may not recommend a cortisone shot in you feet-but I also have not seen you!
Go see a Rheumatologist-or Perhaps a Board Certified Podiatrist--they will have the best options for you. Padding your shoes & wearing something comfortable may decrease symptoms. Try dry cherries in your diet---and research an anti-inflammatory diet. Reduce your stress--These things will help you. There are other meds. It also has been my experience that Neurontin may work better at higher doses-up to 2700 Milligrams a day-WHICH MUST BE MONITORED BY A PHYSICIAN-not yelling-just letting you know if you need to be at higher doses-the doc needs to do it
Good Luck
Hope This Helps
