Question
You're probably over qualified to answer this question, but this was the most relevant category i could think of to ask this...

While helping a friend move, i had a couch dropped on my big toe. That was about a 2 months ago. The area under the toenail, although not in pain, is still purple. Is that normal? If so, when will the color go back to normal? If not, what should i do?

Thanks,
-John.

Answer
This is completely normal. It takes about 9 months for a great toenail to grow out. You should progressively see the dark moving towards the end of the toe with time. If not, go see your podiatrist.
All the best,
