Foot Pain when walking, standing and resting
9/21 15:05:54

Question
My foot started hurting a little over 4 days ago. It started hurting when I walk. I have no idea what I did or if I did anything. I don't do any running or sports. I just walk alot because of my job. My foot hurts on the top and was swollen for a few hours the 2nd day of the pain. I had my husband look at it and he pushed on places and we noticed the large bones on the side are the places that hurt the most when applying pressure. It will stop hurting for a few hours and then the pain gets really bad. When I am resting it often throbs with pain. What could be wrong with my foot?

Answer
Hi Heather,

I would go to a podiatrist and have an xray.  You could have a stress fracture or strain of a tendon.  Gout is also a possibility.
