Question
Hi,my left big toe has tiny cracks on the bottom of the toe and is very painful,on the top of the same toe on joints skin is rough and cracked and it hurts a lot too ,even bed sheets brings the pain,my doctor said that I have ingrown nail, which he cut it,but no improvement on the skin. He told me to use panthenol lotion and vitamins B pills. That didn't help either. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
This Chicago Podiatrist, Elmhurst Podiatrist & South Loop Podiatrist says.......

Dear Emir,

Regarding your big toe pain. See a podiatrist-who can determine if all the ingrown nail is out. Sometimes there may still be a small hidden piece of nail. Try lukewarm soaks and see if that helps temporarily. If the cracking is due to dry skin-try some form of cream that has urea in it-ask the store personnel. If the cracking is due to athlete's foot-use an anti-fungal cream.

Hope This Helps
