Question
Hi, I am a 28yr old girl, who has many medical problems. One which includes bad back pain. I just got report of my MRI of Lumbar Spine.(without contrast)But, cannot see my doctor anytime soon.I was wondering if you could help me read and maybe understand a little of what the report reads?? I would greatly appreciate it. I am really in need of knowing what is wrong with me.
technique: Sagittal and axial T1 and T2-weighted imagina lumbar spine obtained on a open low field-strength MRI.
Findings: Spine is anatomically aligned with conus medullaris at L1.
At T12-L1,L1-2, L2-3: No focal disk herniation or nerve root impingement.
L3-4: Unremarkable.
At L4-5, minimal disk bulge. No significant canal stenosis or nerve root impingement.
L5-S1 also unremarkable with minimal disk bulge. No definite nerve root impingement.
IMPRESSION: Mild spondylitic disk bulge L4-5, L5-S1 with no significant canal stenosis or nerve root impingement.

I have had a few bad falls, one of which was 3 years ago being 8months pregnant and falling on a sheet of ice stepping out of my van. I intentionally fall backwards and on my back to prevent hurting baby. I also had a very bad car accident about 7yrs ago which i was hit at high speed from the back sitting at a red light. And i do have high-level of duties of lifting, bending, and bad posture, a little over weight(used to be 70pounds heavier) and a kinda a large chest.
So, thats just little imformation on myself. I have many medical problems..like ...Migraines,neck&shoulder pain-spasams,depression, different infections, feet problems(cyst and swelling), high blood pressure(when pain is intense).
The pain has become pretty bad, and i do infact have a high tolerance for pain! Have had 2 emergency c-sections..and never took one pain pill! and have had other epsiodes similar. So the pain to be is bad. Can you please tell me what this report is saying and what it means? and any other information u can advise. i really need to know asap! Thank you so very much!!

Answer
Sounds like you have several bad falls.
The MRI report reveals degenerative changes, think wear and tear and arthritis. Not something we should see in a normal 28 year old female.
Without a proper evaluation I cannot tell you best course of treatment but I seems that your spine is out of alignment.
Have you tried Chiropractic care to rebalance your pelvis? I am sure you can find a Chiropractor in your town. If you can tell me the name of your town I can point you to a resource or two.
