poping neck

Question
Hi, about 2 weeks ago while moving my neck around I developed a pop, or
more like a "pop, pop" in my neck every time that I turn my head to right, or
sometimes when i tilt my head in an upward, forward, to the left motion. Their
is no pain.  It sounds as if it is at the base of my skull or in the center of my
neck. my neck seems to make lots of popping/grinding sounds when i sit or
lay in different positions. The sound is crisper in the morning. I went to a
chiropractor once and friends have rubbed my neck. both produced very
short term relief, By that I mean a few head turns and the sound came back.
Both my jobs require me to sit/stand with my head facing in a downward
position a lot of the time. Thank you for your time.

Answer
the pop or noise you hear is a release in pressure in your cervical joints.
Joints will pop but if the popping in the excessive this may mean that something is not properly aligned or a segment below is not moving properly.
I would recommend that you consult with a chiropractor, this is something that will require more then one visit.
Usually when your neck pops all the time it indicates a misalignment lower then where the joint is popping.
