Question
I asked this question to Dr. Timothy Durnin, but he went on vacation, so it was suggested I follow-up with a different doctor.

I asked:
I was dancing around my apartment rather vigorously and suddenly my neck really started to hurt. I think I may have twisted my head too much to one side.  The pain is almost entirely on my right hand side at the base of my neck and fans out to the right side of my upper back and right shoulder.  It feels stiff but does not really hurt unless I turn my head. The rotation of head is slightly limited past about 70 degrees in either direction. It hurts more to turn my head to the left than to the right. The movement of my right arm is painless and unlimited.  I also otherwise feel fine.  I looked in the mirror and do not notice anything unusual. My back looks perfectly symmetrical. Please advise!!

Dr. Durnin suggested I see a chiropractor and felt I may have pinched a nerve.

How soon should I do this? Immediately tomorrow? In the next few days? Also, do you agree with Dr. Durnin.

Thanks!

Answer
Nick,

I do agree with Dr Durnin, and I would like you to do one more thing for me;  go in front of a mirror with your eyes closed and standing up straight.  Then open your eyes and look to see if the top of your right ear is higher than the top of your left ear (or vice-versa), also look at the shoulders and compare them too, is one of them higher than the other?
If you would send me your location, I could send you to a Doctor that I would recommend to help.  I would also recommend that you go to this doctor right away, because there may be something more going on than just some neck pain, and if there is you will be in the right place to have it corrected properly.
