Question
what do you think could be the trouble when i walk it is so sore in the butt area i limp this has been going on for 6 weeks though i pulled a muscle working out at spa but looks like after this long it would be better no pain except when i walk

Answer
Hi Joann, thank you for your question.

I agree that 6 weeks is adequate time to wait for the pain and limping to decrease on their own.  It may be prudent to have the symptoms evaluated by your physician so that a diagnosis and treatment plan can be developed.  Your physician will be able to tell you if it is indeed muscular in nature, or if there is another structure(s) that has been irritated.

It is also important to note that while limping is our natural response to protect an injured area, limping for a long time can actually cause the parts of us that are not injured to take on extra work.  That is another reason why a medical evaluation could be helpful:  to prevent the other joints and muscles in your body from becoming stressed.

I hope this has been helpful to you.  Please write back if I can help clarify this answer.  I am sorry that, as per AllExperts policy and per my license, I am not able to provide you with a diagnosis online.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Jenny
