Question
after being in hospital for viral and intestinal infection
my skin separated under the sole of my foot like having a sock on i peeled of mostof it and the skin color is bright pink. What should be done?

Answer
Hi Ed,

You likely had swelling of the feet and often you will lose skin after being on strong medications. Also not putting pressure on the feet make cause skin loss.

I would apply a mild cream twice daily and don't go barefoot.  Wear supportive shoes and always wear socks.

If you have pain, bleeding or open wounds I would see a Podiatrist ASAP.
