Right foot snapping/cracking when walking.

Question
Hello,
I've been experiencing a snapping/cracking sound in my right foot when walking for over three years.
The problem initially started with the snapping/cracking sound with no pain. A few months later, I began to feel pain. I went to an orthopedic doctor and was told that I had osteochondritis. I was given an Exogen Bone Stimulator to use for a month. When I went back to my doctor, I was told that the osteochondritis had healed. However, the snapping/cracking sound and the pain continued.
I had surgery and a number of injections in my foot, yet the pain and snapping still continued.
I have been to over ten orthopedic doctors, two podiatrists as well as a rheumatologist and nobody can figure it out.
Thank you for your help.

Answer
Dear Anthony,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
Usually a crackling sound in the foot is due to tendon movement within the tendon sheath.Sometimes injuries to the tendons may produce the pain. An MRI may show if there is any tendon involvement. If you had a recent MRI-have it sent to a podiatric MRI specialist.
Good Luck!
