Foot irritation

Question
About 3 days ago my left foot began feeling as if I had a sock bunched up under it.  There seems to be slight swelling on the outside of my foot (at the 5th toe), however the irritation is actually under my foot right near that toe.  I have had no previous foot problems, and there was no injury to the area.

Answer
You should see a podiatrist for an xray to make sure there is not a metatarsal stress fracture.  It could also be a bruise.  Socks bunched up may be a sign of nerve damage or neuroma.
