Question
Hey Dr. George,

I awoke to a sharp pain underneath my big toe and after I had checked, a small bump had appeared. I thought it might have been an insect bite, but found no trace of piercing or blood. Can you please tell me what this bump may be.

Sincerely,
Robert

Answer
This Chicago, South Loop & Elmhurst O Podiatrist of AnklenfootCenters.com says.......

Dear Robert

If you are sure that you did not receive an insect bite or your big toe-then some possibilities may be a wart or callous of the foot. These can grow without suspicion-until they reach a size that is bothersome. If it appears to be a callus you may try to gently use a pumice stone to remove the dead skin and get a better look at it. If it has pinpoint dots-it may be a plantar's wart
Good Luck!
