Question
i just had an mri done on my ankle due to frequent sprains and one of the many problems shown was a cyst in the tendon, how do they treat this?

Answer
Hi Yvonne,

A cyst in an ankle tendon is not necessarily treated unless there is pain or there is pressure against a nerve causing pain.  If the cyst is large it is possible to get a rupture of the tendon.  So relieving the pressure is the key.

For the ankle sprains you could consider orthotic devices or ankle foot orthoses to stabilize the ankle and relieve the tendon pressure.
