Foot numbness

Question
I have this weird thing going on with my left foot. When I, say, scratch the top of my foot, it feels numb, like when you lay on your arm and it falls asleep. I don't feel anything going on with it unless I scratch it. I play basketball and softball and don't have any problems with it unless I scratch the top of it and it feels tingly and numb.

Thanks for your time
Anthony

Answer
Hi ANthony,

A patch of numbness can be somewhat common from shoes especially if they are tight over one of the superficial nerves.  Check your shoes.  If the problem continues I would see a podiatrist to make sure it is nothing more.
