Question
I jammed my toe with a floor jack and well it was almost completely gone after the injury so I pulled it out the rest myself... we cleaned with peroxide and then iodine neosporin and wrapped with gauze and tape... what I am wondering is how to continue cleaning and dressing ... and will my nail grow back?  I've done some reading and some say yes, if there is no damage to the nail bed.  I am not sure what that is, but when I pulled the nail out there was about a 1/4 from under the skin that pulled.  Also, the use of antibiotic creams and such, there are some postings and say not to use them?  Any info will help.

Answer
This Chicago Podiatrist says....
Continue to use a small amount of antibiotic ointment(not cream) daily-until it dries out.
Stop using Peroxide-too drying.
Protect with gauze and minimal tape--not a bandaid-to prevent moisture buildup.
Wait for 6 months-that's about how long it will take for the toenail to regrow.
Use a moisturizer after it heals to keep to nail bed soft.

Hope this helps!
Good Luck My Friend!
