ankle pain at night

Question
About a year ago, a large object slid into my inner ankle right where my leg meets with my foot. I had bruising down to my toes. The Xray showed no break. About a month later, my doctor said she felt what she thought was a calcium deposit. She told me to use heat and gave me some ankle exercises. Now, a year later, I am getting sharp pains in my ankle while in bed at night. I actually kick my leg out because the pain is so sudden and sharp. It is worse when I have been on my feet a lot during the day. I have no significant pain during the day. Is this nightly pain most likely from the calcium deposit? Is there anything that can be done to help with the pain? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Sounds like something may have been missed originally and there may be some nerve irritation by the "calcium deposit".  Visit a podiatrist to have a more in-depth check.

All the best,
