Question
I am 69 years old female living in India. I am a housewife. I had problems in bending my knees for a while. I could hardly climb stairs and then i went for a medical check-up.The doctor diagnosed the following problems:
1) Osteoporosis
2) Lumbosecral joint dislocate
3) No Gapin Right knee joint shown by X-Ray

The doctor told me to go for an immediate surgery. I would be highly obliged if you could tell me any other alternative rather than surgery. I am very scared and can the problem be cured by medicines and physiotherapy. Am looking forward to your advise.

Answer
Dear Murti,

This Chicago & Elmhurst Podiatrist says....
If the surgery recommendation is for your back-and there is pressure on a nerve-Then you need to consider the surgery. You may not need surgery for your knee.

Hope this helps!
