SIDE FOOT PAIN

Question
Hello, and thanks in advance!! I have been diagnosed with Plantar FTS.  My right foot is just to the point where I cant take it. I think It has progressed so far? Ive had the shot, the splint doesnt fit right and my heel doesn't even hurt. It is my foot. The ball, under the toes, and the outer side, maybe the side of the heel some.  It is really getting bad again, and its been almost a year now.  In the morning its usually ok, but I dread having to shop or anything, it is debilitating, and I'm not a wimp! I have arch supports also. Just wondering do you think they missed something?

Answer
Hi Nicky,

If the ball of your foot is hurting, then there must be more going on with your foot.  Plantar fasciitis will typically cause heel pain in the morning and after rest.  If you have forefoot pain, you may have a neuroma or problem with one of the metatarsal bones.

I would seek another opinion from a different podiatrist.

Possibly consider an MRI but a podiatrist should be able to give you a clear diagnosis that can be treated.
