Question
Hi John,

what are the effects of manual handling (e.g. storing stock, lifting, strecthing to reach shelves, etc.) particularly to the body?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Thien,
Thanks so much for your question.

I have never heard of someone suffering a spinal cord injury from normal physical activity. However, people can and have injured their backs and/or necks (slipped or ruptured discs, pulled or torn muscles, nerve damage, etc.) when they have put exccessive stress on the body.

When doing anything physical, you have to let your body tell you when there is too much strain.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me anytime.

Thanks again,
John McKinzie
