Question
my doctor says ive damaged my discs in my spine,ive been in constant pain for about 10 months now. I get pain in my spine,shoulders,neck,arms,hips,legs and knees.they are a sharp stabbing pain and i also ache from top to toe ive asked my doctor about this may times he doesnt really help. i am on morphine and many other pain killers the pain is that bad i cant sleep well,iam i going to get any better and can you explain a little about my condiction and what it is it called.  please help      thank you

Disc damage is either a long-term consequence of muscular contractions in the muscles along the spine or the consequence of violent injury.

However, most often, pain such as you describe is the pain of tight, sore muscles.

In your case, since so much of you is involved, the pain may be causing you to contract more, which causes more pain.  This is known as a "positive feedback loop".

If you were my client, I'd be examining you for such muscular contractions and then teaching you to relax them.
